E.L. Harvey & Sonsis looking for aWelder/Compactor Technicianto join our teaminNew Bedford, MA.

Schedule:Monday-Friday 7:00am to 3:30

Rate:$28.00 to $30.00 per hour (Dependent on Experience)

As a Welder/Compactor Technician with us the minimum responsibilities are:

  • Performweldingandelectrical repairof trash containers and compactors.
  • Performsandingandpaintingof trash containers.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area incompliancewith Corporate andOSHAstandards.
  • Performs all work in accordance with establishedsafetyprocedures, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Ability to effectively communicateneeded repairs or tasks.

What we need from you:

  • Prior experience with electrical and hydraulic systems is highly preferred.
  • Requires strenuousphysicalwork;heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
  • Work environment may be indoors in a shop, or outdoors to repair containers in the yard. Usually well-lighted and ventilated. Sometimes necessary to work in awkward or tight positions and to handle greasy or dirty tools. These factors require following basicsafetyprecautions.
  • Respirator fit test required.
  • Minimum 1 years of experience inMIG welding
