Job description

Lead the Night. Support the Drivers. Keep Operations Moving. Driver Supervisor – Night Shift $69,000–$74,000 Annual Base Salary + Incentives Night Shift | Rotating 12-Hour Shifts | 4:00 PM Start Time Schedule: Sunday-Tuesday + every other Saturday Lead people. Drive safety. Deliver results.

TCI Transportation is looking for a hands-on Driver Supervisor who can lead from the front, support our professional drivers, and keep a fast-moving transportation operation running safely and efficiently.

This isn't a desk-only supervisory role. You'll be directly involved in driver leadership, dispatch, customer service, safety, DOT compliance, scheduling, equipment coordination, and day-to-day operations. You'll work closely with drivers, dispatchers, maintenance, customers, Safety, Recruiting, HR, and Operations leadership to keep the operation moving.

This role also requires flexibility to respond to operational emergencies and occasional holiday needs when necessary.

What You'll Be Responsible For
  • Lead Daily Operations by ensuring routes, schedules, drivers, and customer commitments are executed successfully.
  • Lead & Develop Drivers through interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, counseling, and ongoing development.
  • Manage Dispatch & Scheduling by ensuring drivers report as scheduled and making dispatch adjustments when operational needs change.
  • Champion Safety by reinforcing TCI safety standards, monitoring performance, and helping build a strong safety culture.
  • Own Performance Metrics by working with customers to establish attainable goals and reporting results through weekly KPI and monthly performance meetings.
  • Support the Customer by maintaining strong relationships, addressing operational needs, and ensuring TCI meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Use Technology to Drive Performance through systems including Samsara, ELDs, McLeod, customer portals, and driver recruiting technology.
  • Support Payroll & Administrative Accuracy by ensuring required payroll and operational processes are completed correctly and on time.
Be the Leader Our Drivers Can Count On

The Driver Supervisor plays a direct role in building and maintaining a successful driver team.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Hiring, training, coaching, and developing drivers
  • Providing feedback, counseling, and disciplinary action when needed
  • Scheduling road tests for new drivers
  • Monitoring equipment condition and coordinating repairs with TCI Maintenance
  • Completing accident and injury reporting and participating in investigations
  • Partnering with Operations, Recruiting, Safety, and Human Resources on employment decisions
  • Identifying opportunities to improve safety and operational flow

Transportation doesn't work without safety—and this position plays a critical role in protecting our drivers, customers, and operation.

  • DOT & FMCSA compliance
  • Driver Hours of Service compliance
  • ELD accuracy and auditing
  • Drivers have sufficient DOT hours for assigned work
  • Log discrepancies are identified and addressed
  • Safety policies and procedures are consistently followed
  • Safety concerns are coordinated with Operations, Safety, and HR when necessary
