Interns typically assist with data collection and analysis, research transportation systems, support project planning, and help prepare reports or presentations. These internships provide valuable exposure to real-world projects, often within city or regional planning departments, engineering firms, or government agencies. • Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Enrollment in an Urban and Regional Planning, Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, Public Policy, or related academic program. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with GIS software, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe PDF applications, Bluebeam Revu, or related planning and visualization tools.
  • Exposure to transportation planning concepts, multimodal transportation, complete streets, traffic safety, transit planning, land use planning, public engagement, or transportation data analysis is helpful.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, writing ability, and willingness to learn in a collaborative project environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, ask questions, take direction, and work both independently and as part of a team.
