Snowbird is situated in the middle of the Wasatch Mountain Range and is not only home to awe-inspiring views and mighty terrain, it is also home to employees equally as remarkable. Snowbird is continually looking for the best, those who share a passion for these mountains and the outdoors. Snowbird is a unique resort with distinct summer and winter seasons and offers full-time, part-time and seasonal positions.

TITLE: Office Supervisor - Snowbird Mountain Guides

LOCATION: Snowbird

STATUS: Seasonal, Full-time, Hourly - from October 19

(Part-time starting as early as mid-August for training, tabling, and events)

SCHEDULE: Variable - 4-day working week

  • Must be able to work any day of the week, weekends, and holidays.
  • Shifts vary, could be 10-hour days starting as early as 6:45 am.

SUMMARY

As the Office Supervisor, you will work closely with the Mountain Guides Operations Manager to oversee the guest-facing and administrative functions of Snowbird Mountain Guides. Snowbird Mountain Guides is a year-round guiding service offering snowcat skiing, avalanche education, backcountry skiing, rock climbing, and hiking experiences. In this seasonal role, you will play a key part in supporting guest services, trip logistics, and daily operations. As a member of a small, collaborative management team, you will contribute across a variety of operational and administrative functions to help ensure exceptional guest experiences and the overall success of the program.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Communicate with guests as needed for scheduling courses and guided backcountry services outside of the online booking system, as well as additional communications directly with guests for changes or cancellations in reservations related to adverse condition concerns or other issues.
  • Under direction of Operations Manager, notify guests of any changes/cancellations due to weather.
  • Handle guest issues, reservation changes, cancellations, and payments as needed outside the online booking system.
  • Greet and prepare guests for trips so the day runs smoothly. Manage lift access, waivers, rental gear, meals, etc.
  • Work with Guest Services and Mountain School to train office staff and maintain weekly office staff work schedules.
  • Work in collaboration with Mountain School and Guest Services to handle responsibilities appropriate to the level of the job in the Mountain Center
  • Set-up and maintain sales and reservation systems, continuously monitoring for accuracy and the best guest experience.
  • Work with Marketing and Group Sales to promote products.
  • Manage UTA rideshare program and van use for the department.

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • Excellent communication, guest service, and organizational skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft and Google suite apps for sharing and managing information within the team and with guests.
  • Sales experience with RTP sales software and AspenWare web commerce preferred.
  • Previous experience in the guiding and snowsports industry.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to ski or snowboard.Backcountry experience would be a plus.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Must be able to work any day of the week, weekends, and holidays.
  • Season typically lasts from Mid-October to Mid-April.
  • Part-time starting as early as mid-August.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • May experience periods of high stress due to frequent interaction with the public, challenging winter weather conditions, overnight snow operations, and travel to and from Snowbird.
  • Must be able to travel through the canyon during early morning hours, including during periods of avalanche mitigation work or prior to canyon road closures, as operational needs require.
  • Must be willing and able to stay overnight at the resort, when necessary, due to operational demands, weather conditions, or transportation restrictions.
