We are looking for an experienced Senior Transportation Operations Manager to lead our operations Department and oversee the leaders responsible for dispatch, safety and compliance, vehicle detailing, and fleet maintenance.

Position Summary

Reporting to executive leadership, the Senior Transportation Operations Manager is responsible for leading the company's daily transportation operations through department managers and supervisors while ensuring operational, financial, safety, and customer service goals are consistently achieved.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, establish operational standards, monitor performance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement across all operational departments.

You will provide leadership and oversight for the following departments:

  • Safety & Compliance
  • Fleet Services
  • Vehicle Detailing


Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop department managers and supervisors.
  • Ensure daily transportation operations are executed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Monitor operational performance and hold departments accountable for meeting established KPIs.
  • Improve fleet utilization, labor productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, company policies, and all applicable regulations.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance scheduling, vehicle readiness, and fleet reliability.
  • Partner with executive leadership to improve operational performance and support company growth.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on recruiting, employee development, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture built on teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of transportation, logistics, or fleet operations experience.
  • Minimum 5 years managing supervisors, managers, or multiple operational departments.
  • Strong knowledge of dispatch operations, fleet management, DOT regulations, FMCSA compliance, and transportation safety standards.
  • Demonstrated success leading high-performing operational teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Experience with transportation management systems (TMS), dispatch software, GPS/fleet management platforms, and Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
