Position Summary... What you'll do...Role summary:
We are seeking a strategic Senior Manager, Fleet Safety & Compliance to lead safety, regulatory compliance, and driver development programs across Walmart’s Regional Training Center network. This role oversees fleet safety execution, DOT/FMCSA compliance, driver onboarding, CDL development, skills improvement, and safety governance. The Senior Manager leads Area Safety Managers across seven Regional Training Centers and partners closely with transportation operations, training, and compliance leaders. This highly visible leader ensures consistent safety and compliance standards, strengthens driver quality and operational readiness, and drives long-term fleet safety performance while fostering accountability, regulatory excellence, and a strong safety culture. The ideal candidate will bring significant experience leading commercial driver training or fleet compliance programs.
About the team:
The Fleet Safety & Compliance team advances safe, compliant, and high-performing transportation operations across Walmart’s private fleet. The team leads driver safety, DOT/FMCSA compliance, onboarding assessments, and continuous driver development through Regional Training Centers. Working closely with Transportation Operations, Training, Human Resources, and Enterprise Compliance, the team helps prepare drivers for successful careers while maintaining consistent regulatory standards. Through coaching, field engagement, data analysis, and operational partnership, the organization strengthens safety culture, reduces risk, supports driver growth, and ensures professional, compliant operations aligned with Walmart’s commitment to safety, integrity, and operational excellence.
What you'll do:
Lead safety and compliance programs across seven Regional Training Centers supporting driver onboarding, assessment, training, and development. Provide leadership and accountability for Area Safety Managers while ensuring consistent DOT/FMCSA compliance, including Hours of Service, Driver Qualification requirements, ELD governance, and safety standards. Monitor safety and performance trends, identify risks, implement corrective actions, and support audit readiness. Drive process standardization, safety training, remedial coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives. Analyze compliance and driver performance data, partner with cross-functional stakeholders, and serve as a subject matter expert on fleet safety, regulatory compliance, and transportation best practices.
What you'll bring:
Demonstrated leadership experience in transportation safety, fleet compliance, or DOT regulatory operations. Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, including Hours of Service, Driver Qualification requirements, Drug and Alcohol compliance, ELD governance, and CSA performance management. Experience leading multi-site safety programs, supporting audits and investigations, and driving corrective actions. Proven ability to influence leaders, strengthen accountability, and manage risk in fast-paced environments. Strong analytical, communication, and coaching skills with a passion for driver development and safety culture. Experience in transportation, logistics, or private fleet operations and relevant certifications are preferred.
