Transportation Operations Supervisor

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Transportation Operations Supervisor to support our Operations Manager with the daily coordination and management of transportation operations.

This is a hands-on position that involves supporting drivers, organizing daily operations, and helping maintain our fleet. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, has strong time management skills, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced transportation environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Operations Manager with daily transportation and driver operations.
• Help organize driver schedules, assignments, and daily activities.
• Communicate with drivers and assist in resolving day-to-day operational issues.
• Help maintain the company fleet, including monitoring and coordinating tractor repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
• Ensure tractors are kept clean, organized, safe, and properly maintained.
• Identify vehicle maintenance or repair needs and communicate them to management.
• Maintain organized records and help keep daily operations running efficiently.
• Demonstrate strong time management, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Valid, unrestricted Class A CDL required.
• Doubles and Triples Endorsement preferred. Candidates without the endorsement must be willing to obtain it.
• Previous experience in transportation, trucking, fleet operations, supervision, or management is preferred.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Dependable, hands-on, and willing to assist wherever needed to support daily operations.

Driving Record Requirements

Candidates must meet the following driving history requirements:

Within the past 12 months, applicants must have no record, citation, or conviction for:

• Using a handheld mobile phone or texting while operating a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV).
• Failing to properly wear a seatbelt while operating or riding as a passenger in a CMV.
• More than one instance under the FMCSA CSA Unsafe Driving BASIC involving Dangerous Driving, Speeding 3, or Speeding 4 in a work or construction zone.
• Any CSA violation involving Hazardous Materials Load Securement, Texting, Phone Call, or Seat Belt violations.

Within the past 36 months, applicants must have no record, citation, or conviction for:

• More than two moving violations.
• More than one preventable accident, or more than one preventable accident combined with one moving violation.
• Operating a vehicle without a valid or proper license, including driving with an expired, suspended, revoked, or canceled license.
• More than one driver's license suspension of 30 days or more for moving violations.
• Reckless, aggressive, or careless driving that endangers a vehicle or others.
• Exceeding the posted speed limit by 15 MPH or more.
• Operating a CMV without required medical certification.
• Operating a vehicle containing alcoholic beverages, drugs, or controlled substances contrary to law.
• Any offense resulting in suspension of driving privileges due to excessive or serious moving violations.
• Violating an out-of-service order.
• Falsifying documents related to DOT compliance.
• Carrying or transporting unauthorized passengers in a CMV.
• CSA violations involving Driver Fitness or Hours of Service, including Jumping Out-of-Service orders, Fraud, or Driver Fatigue.

Within the past 60 months, applicants must have no record, citation, or conviction for:

• Operating any vehicle while unlawfully under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or controlled substances.
• Failing to submit to or pass DOT-required drug, controlled substance, or alcohol testing.
• Failing to stop or remain at the scene of an accident.
• Failing to yield to a school bus and causing an accident.
• Failing to yield at a railroad crossing while transporting hazardous materials in a CMV.
• Fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement.
• Using any vehicle in connection with the commission of a felony.
• An excessive pattern of moving violations, defined as five or more moving violations within the previous 60 months.

Applicants must also have no record of a preventable accident resulting in a fatality or serious injury, or a payout greater than $100,000.

Commercial Driver's License Requirements

• Every driver must possess an unrestricted Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Learner's permits or restricted licenses are not acceptable.
• A Doubles and Triples Endorsement is preferred. Candidates who do not currently possess this endorsement must be willing and able to obtain it.

Criminal Background Requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum clearance periods:

• Felony: At least seven (7) years from the date of clearance, including completion of probation, parole, incarceration, or court-ordered diversion.
• DUI/DWI: At least five (5) years.
• Misdemeanor: At least three (3) years.

An applicant will not be qualified if they have been convicted of a crime related to sexual abuse and are subject to an active court order requiring registration as a sexual offender.
