Transportation Specialist

About the Role

McKesson Canada is seeking a results-drivenTransportation Specialistto support transportation operations across Western Canada. This role is ideal for a transportation, logistics, or supply chain professional with experience incarrier management, freight operations, transportation analytics, network performance, and continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Sr. Transportation Manager, you will help ensure the safe, compliant, and cost-effective movement of healthcare products while supporting service excellence across the transportation network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and supportline haul, air cargo, carrier hub, and regional transportation performance.

  • Analyze transportation KPIs includingon-time delivery, freight costs, carrier compliance, scan performance, and service metrics.

  • Identify service gaps, cost-saving opportunities, and process improvements to enhance network efficiency and reliability.

  • Prepare performance reports and provide recommendations to Transportation Leadership.

  • Serve as a key contact for carrier issues, delivery exceptions, and service escalations.

  • Partner with Distribution Centres, Customer Operations, carriers, and internal stakeholders to resolve transportation challenges.

  • Coordinate overflow planning, alternate delivery solutions, and special transportation requirements.

  • Support carrier compliance with regulatory requirements, operational standards, and customer commitments.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on transportation performance, cost optimization, and customer experience.

  • Support transportation procedures, network standards, and best practice implementation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or equivalent experience.

  • 3-5 years of experience intransportation, logistics, freight, courier, LTL, FTL, or supply chain operations.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and transportation reporting.

  • Experience collaborating with carriers and cross-functional operational teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CITT-CCLP, P.Log, SCMP, or related transportation/supply chain certification.

  • Experience inpharmaceutical, healthcare, or regulated transportation environments.

  • Knowledge of Health Canada requirements and healthcare distribution practices.

  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and transportation analytics tools.
