Ardurra is seeking a Project Manager to join our Transportation team in Houston, TX, supporting Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects. This position is open to remote applicants.

Primary Function

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead technology-driven transportation infrastructure projects that improve safety, mobility, and overall system performance. The Project Manager will oversee Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects from planning and design through construction support while coordinating with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary project teams.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, project management experience, and a passion for delivering innovative transportation solutions for public agency clients.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage ITS projects for municipal and transportation agency clients
  • Lead project scope, schedule, budget, and overall delivery
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, subconsultants, and technical staff
  • Oversee design efforts involving ITS infrastructure, signal systems, electrical systems, illumination, signing and pavement markings, traffic control plans, and operational improvements
  • Support systems engineering, operational analysis, quantities, specifications, estimates, and QA/QC activities
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and stakeholder coordination
  • Monitor project financial performance and manage project controls
  • Mentor engineers and technical staff while ensuring compliance with applicable standards and specifications
  • Support proposal development, statements of qualifications, and business development efforts
  • Collaborate with leadership and clients to identify opportunities for continued growth

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program required
  • Advanced degree in Engineering or a related field preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in transportation engineering with emphasis on ITS and traffic operations required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas required, or ability to obtain Texas licensure through reciprocity within six months
  • Experience supporting ITS, signal, and transportation technology projects required
  • PTOE (Professional Traffic Operations Engineer) certification preferred
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Experience managing project scope, schedule, and budget required
  • Experience with TxDOT Group 7 work categories preferred
  • Experience working with TxDOT, municipalities, and public agency clients throughout Texas preferred
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and maintain strong client relationships
