The Role at a glance:

The Culinary & Transportation Manager is responsible for coordinating daily activities between the culinary and transportation teams to ensure quality metrics and service standards are consistently achieved. This hands-on role requires excellent communication, strong organizational skills, and a customer-focused approach to proactively resolve operational challenges while supporting exceptional service delivery.ย 

What you'll be doing:
  • Coordinate daily operations between Culinary and Transportation departments to ensure quality and performance metrics are met.
  • Monitor service execution and proactively identify and resolve operational issues.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding to client needs and offering effective solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with managers, team members, and clients to ensure seamless operations.
  • Support food delivery logistics and transportation as needed, including driving a delivery van when required.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Utilize computer systems to document activities, communicate updates, and complete operational reporting.
  • Work independently while effectively prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Assist with other operational duties as assigned.
What we're looking for:
  • High-volume food service, hospitality, healthcare, or logistics experience required.
  • ServSafe Certification required (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to safely operate a delivery van.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and other business applications.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Where you'll be working:

Mississippi State Hospital

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to load, unload, and transport food and supplies as needed.
Schedule Requirements:
  • Operation is open seven days a week.
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Schedule flexibility is required, with shifts that may begin as early as 4:00 AM or end as late as 8:00 PM.
