How this role drives the company forward:
The Senior Marketing Event Specialist is responsible for planning and executing high-value company tradeshows, seminars, and webinars. This role works closely with various teams, including creative, content, digital marketing, sales, and product marketing, to create impactful events that not only promote our brand but also drive awareness and generate and accelerate pipeline growth. This role's expertise in event management and collaboration with cross-functional teams will be crucial in ensuring the success of these events.
The Senior Marketing Event Specialist is an onsite role located in San Jose, CA.
How you will make an impact:
In this role, you will have a positive impact on building our company's brand awareness, improving customer relationships, and driving sales through the planning and executing high-value company tradeshows, seminars, and webinars. As a Senior Marketing Event Specialist, you will work cross functionally, to support all aspects of event negotiation, planning, and logistics. Through regular communication and collaboration with vendors, sales and marketing team members, you will ensure that all our events are professional and polished, aligned with our brand values, and executed seamlessly which will contribute to the company's continued growth and success.
What will you do:
  • Maintain Takara Bio tradeshow/Event calendar to meet business needs.
  • Responsible for executing event logistics, implementation, and follow-up/debriefing activities. This includes conducting event project plans, selecting and hiring vendor partners, sourcing and selecting venues, negotiating contracts, arranging amenities, food and beverage, transportation, event registration, production, and attendee surveys, and preparing event reports.
  • Support event leads processing by collecting and submitting sales and marketing leads for upload to databases by the Data Analyst.
  • Maintain events information on the corporate website.
  • Process departmental purchase requisitions. Reports monthly accruals, credit card usage and other information needed for purchasing, accounts payable or other related functions.
  • Posts and maintains corporate marketing materials for employees, and affiliates on corporate intranet.
  • Tracks and maintains status of active literature, promo items, and tradeshow materials.
  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

How will you get here?
  • Undergraduate degree in marketing, communications, business or related field, or life science, or additional work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing tradeshows and vendor show.
  • Working knowledge of virtual event platforms and technology.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and SharePoint.
  • Self-driven, flexible, patient, results-oriented, detail-oriented, well-organized, and willing to tackle concurrent tasks and projects as requested.
