Overview
THE ROLE

The Position: The electrification product manager is responsible for development of trailer electrification products in support of zero emission products.
Responsibilities
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead appropriate functional organizations to develop product strategies and initiatives for the electrified CV market to achieve a differentiated market position (Define where to play and how to win)
  • Develop product plans, business cases, and plans to implement strategies for product line profitability
  • Become subject matter expert on assigned products, markets, customers, and competitors by:
    • Understanding market trends, requirements, legislation, and impacts
    • Gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements
    • Defining product vision
    • Working closely with engineering, sales, service, and marketing to develop long-term product road maps
    • Working to develop optimized investment, marketing, and go-to-market approaches associated with developed product strategies
  • Develop sophisticated and concise communications regarding strategy development and conclusions
  • Develop clear and compelling product stories and value propositions
  • Champion assigned product strategies to drive implementation
  • Lead electrification projects in collaboration with internal teams, customers, vendors and industry partners
  • Provide training and educate Great Dane personnel in trailer electrification
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS)
  • Education: BS in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: 5-years minimum experience in related field.
  • Skills: Strong working knowledge of refrigeration cycle and real-world application.
  • Strong understanding of AC/DC power, storage, and control system.
  • Strong understanding of power inverters, management, and energy loss characteristics.
  • Familiar with battery types, application, and limitation.
  • Good understanding of high voltage DC systems.
  • Ability to coordinate and work with multiple vendors and industry partners.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize loosely defined projects.
  • Ability to generate advanced 3D CAD modeling.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Working understanding of engineering/manufacturing data requirements and design tools.
  • Working knowledge of design engineering and manufacturing applications and processes.
  • Project management experience.
  • Working understanding of PCs and Windows OS.
  • Travel: Occasional travel is required to provide onsite support and/or meetings
