Job description

Seasonal Propane Transport Delivery Driver

Palmetto Propane, Fuels, and Ice is a leading provider of propane and fuel services across South Carolina. We are committed to delivering safe, reliable energy solutions to residential, commercial, and agricultural customers. Join Palmetto Propane for the winter heating season and become part of a team that values safety, customer service, and dependable employees.

As a Seasonal Propane Transport Delivery Driver, you will safely deliver propane to commercial, and Industrial customers during our busiest time of the year. This position is ideal for experienced CDL drivers who enjoy working independently, providing outstanding customer service, and being part of a professional team.

Season of Employment: November through March

The is a Returning Seasonal Opportunity. Our goal is to build a team of experienced propane delivery drivers who return to work with us each winter. Drivers who demonstrate a strong work ethic, commitment to safety, and excellent customer service are encouraged to return season after season, providing dependable winter employment with a company that values your experience and dedication. This position will report out of our Lexington hub.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely deliver propane to commercial and industrial customers.
  • Operate propane delivery trucks in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Complete deliveries accurately using electronic dispatch and mobile devices.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while representing Palmetto Propane professionally.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-maintained trucks and equipment.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and management.
  • Assist during emergency weather events when required.
  • Comply with OSHA, DOT, NFPA, and all applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Hazmat and Tanker endorsements required.
  • Manual transmission experience preferred but not required.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical, background check, and drug screening.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge is preferred.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Comfortable using mobile devices and electronic dispatch systems.
  • Willingness to work overtime during periods of high customer demand.
