Overview:

The Transportation Assistant shall provide for the arrangement of material movement of commercial carrier pick-up and delivery. 1st shift Temporary Mon-Fri 6:00 am - 2:30 pm

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepares staging labels to be placed on cargo, ensuring it is loaded in the proper equipment.
  • Assigns seal numbers to each domestic shipment to ensure the cargo is secure and not tampered with while in transit.
  • Monitors shipment from time the driver leaves the warehouse until receipt of shipment at destination.
  • Processed Bill of landing is signed once the bolted seal is placed in the door of the equipment.
  • Ensures that all domestic shipments are noted in the weekly, monthly, and yearly reports.
  • Maintains spreadsheet on domestic shipment reports for accountability.
  • Signs proof of delivery from the receiver on the delivery date.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) experience preferred.
  • High School diploma/ bachelors degree preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Driving may be necessary.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude towards work and the team.
  • Ability to operate skid steer, backhoe, mini-excavator, loader, trencher, etc.

  • Valid Drivers License
