• Evaluate and treat patients with acute and chronic liver conditions, including pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-ups.
• Obtain detailed medical histories and conduct thorough physical examinations to identify normal and abnormal clinical findings.
• Perform and interpret necessary diagnostic studies based on clinical evaluation to aid in patient management.
• Administer medications in accordance with established protocols or physician orders, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations for controlled substances.
• Order laboratory tests, therapeutic procedures, and necessary imaging studies to facilitate comprehensive patient evaluations.
• Participate actively in the surgical suite, assisting the supervising physician as a first or second assistant during liver transplant procedures.
• Coordinate patient care efficiently and safely, including arranging admissions, discharges, and patient transfers.
• Facilitate informed consent and ensure patients understand procedures and their implications.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives, collaborating with team members to enhance patient care protocols.
• Provide education and counseling to patients and families regarding health conditions, treatment options, and postoperative care.
• Recognize and address age-specific needs of patients across the lifespan, ensuring all communication is clear and accessible.

The patient population served by the Liver Transplant department encompasses individuals with severe liver disease requiring transplantation, including but not limited to cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma, and acute liver failure. Our team strives to deliver personalized care, informed by individual medical histories and patient preferences, ensuring that each patient feels valued and understood throughout their journey.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Successful completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
• Current Physician Assistant State License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• DEA registration for prescribing medications.

• A minimum of one year of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in a surgical or transplant setting.
• Familiarity with liver transplant protocols and associated care processes.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to engage and educate diverse patient populations.

The compensation for this position falls within a competitive range of USD 140,000 to 180,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
