Total Compensation w/ OT & Per Diem = $250k-$290k annually

The Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Superintendent is responsible for field operations on assigned project(s) to ensure safe, timely, and profitable completion. This individual will serve as an owner’s representative for a Top 10 U.S. design firm and the nation’s No. 1 ranked power engineering firm, leading work across the U.S. and traveling to power delivery sites.

100% travel position!

Job Duties:

  • Ensure subcontractor contractual compliance for designated T&D construction activities.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, A/E representatives, and other contractors.
  • Partner with project management to develop and implement project procedures, working documents, and standards.
  • Under Construction Manager / Project Manager supervision, authorize purchase requisitions, field design change requests, and related approvals.
  • Own overall project safety; review and audit site-specific safety documentation, including Pre-Task Analyses (PTAs) and Task Safety Observations (TSOs), on a regular basis.
  • Complete daily field reports and daily photo documentation to track construction progress.
  • Assess upcoming work and flag concerns using the subcontractors’ 3-week look-ahead report.
  • Maintain marked-up and as-built drawings to support record set documentation; support RFI responses with the Assistant Project Manager or Field Engineer.
  • Direct and manage subcontractors to meet the established project schedule; track and verify progress by installed quantities and work hours.
  • Verify material deliveries meet specifications, are stored properly, and that required preventative maintenance and/or temporary heating is being performed (as coordinated with the Materials Manager when applicable).
  • Coordinate with the QA/QC Manager to confirm all welders on site are qualified for project welding requirements.
  • Witness equipment setting and alignment activities.
  • Walk down systems prior to, during, and after hydrostatic testing to confirm compliance with drawings/specifications; sign off on completed testing and restoration
  • Develop punch lists for incomplete work and items out of compliance.
  • Ensure the most current drawing revisions are being used in the field.
  • Execute project scope and manage changes; ensure field change orders are executed.
  • Oversee craft supervision and project staffing as required.
  • Provide oversight of site material and tool management.
  • Supervise daily field construction in accordance with company policies, procedures, systems, and approved requirements.
  • Coordinate all field activities daily, direct subcontractors, and ensure code/specification compliance.
  • Read, interpret, and understand isometric drawings, structural drawings, and P&IDs.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree and 7 years construction management experience or craft supervision experience on T&D projects. Required or
  • Associate Degree and 9 years construction management experience or craft supervision experience on T&D projects. Required or
  • High School Diploma/GED and 11 years construction management experience or craft supervision experience on T&D projects.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
