Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer I with 10+ years of experience in structural steel and concrete design supporting heavy industrial, power generation, transmission, substation, or similar infrastructure projects.

This role will support transmission and substation design projects and will include structural analysis, foundation design, engineering calculations, field inspections, construction support, and oversight of designers and drafters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and analyze structural steel, reinforced concrete, foundations, and substation structures.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and material requirements.
  • Perform structural steel connection design and analysis.
  • Conduct site walkdowns, field inspections, and construction support activities.
  • Review and check structural calculations and drawings.
  • Develop cost estimates and material takeoffs.
  • Support transmission line and substation projects.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, project management, vendors, and field teams.
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineers, designers, and drafters.
  • Manage multiple projects, schedules, priorities, and deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
  • 10+ years of structural steel and concrete design experience.
  • Experience in heavy industrial, power plant, transmission, substation, or commercial structural engineering.
  • Strong experience with structural steel connections and foundation design.
  • Working knowledge of AISC, ASCE, ACI, AWS, and OSHA standards.
  • Proficiency with STAAD Pro and structural engineering software.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
Preferred Skills
  • EIT certification or PE license.
  • Experience with ANSYS, MathCAD, AllPile, LPILE, or FAD Tools.
  • Seismic, wind, and vibration analysis experience.
  • Transmission line structure or substation foundation design experience.
