Job description

About the Position

Pond is seeking an experienced Transmission Line Engineer to join our growing Energy team in either one of the following Pond offices: Atlanta, GA; Peachtree Corners, GA; Tampa, FL; The Woodlands, TX; Denver, CO. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant experience and a passion for growth and collaboration. In this role, you will support the Power Services program, delivering projects for clients across the United States, offering opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills in transmission and substation design. We are looking for a self-starter who can work independently.

Job Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge of transmission line design materials to generate framing drawings, load and dimension drawings, and bills of materials
  • Design transmission line projects employing industry recognized software packages such as AutoCAD / Civil 3D, FAD Tools, and PLS CADD
  • Create drawings and specifications for transmission line construction
  • Perform electrical calculations for transmission line system design / studies (Insulation Coordination Studies, OPGW Analysis, Line Ground System Analysis, Line Loss Studies, etc.)
  • Coordinate with internal project managers and disciplines to ensure project success
  • Prepare engineering deliverables, including contract documents and studies
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality requirements
  • Assist with equipment specifications, bid evaluations, and procurement
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Travel to client sites and industry conferences as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in transmission line design
  • Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and design software
