Job description

Pay Range
$69,455.00 - $122,145.00
Purpose:
The Manager Logistics Operations - Transload Facility, will provide leadership and supervision for all Operational activities including: IB receiving, storage, inventory, movement and OB shipping of products, materials, supplies and equipment. This individual will focus on providing excellent customer service and general support to the Moreno Valley DC, and the Store Support Center.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree in General Business or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company
  • Three to five years of relevant experience required (relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education)
  • Industry experience in a warehouse or distribution center preferred
  • Proven track record of delivering results, managing teams, and continuous improvement
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety rules, strongly preferred
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure
  • Proficiency with software applications and transportation systems
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Warehouse Management System experience (Manhattan preferred)
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently, and/or within a team, across all levels and diverse cultures, and the ability to lead team projects
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • FTZ knowledge and experience

Essential Job Functions:
  • Establish operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, inventory management and control, and safety training
  • Develop strategies to streamline processes and reduce cost
  • Work within space requirements and layout of Transload facility considering size, weight, multiple SKU's and related factors of items in storage
  • Work within a Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Daily Coordination with drayage providers to deliver daily inbound containers based on priority.
  • Assists GM with the evaluation of the effectiveness of and recommends alternatives for work methods, procedures, controls, and staffing to achieve accurate and timely movement and processing of product; manage to ensure facility layout is optimally aligned for maximum efficiency as inventory needs require.
  • Recruit, manage and develop workers to carryout daily operations of the facility
  • Coaches, trains and develops employees informally and through formal training programs, providing both informal (e.g. on-floor caching) and formal (e.g. written evaluation) job performance-based feedback.
  • Ensures a culture of safety throughout the facility by enforcing safety policies and procedures and monitors facility safety, physical security and operational metrics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Receive shipment tenders from store support planning team and work with DC operations to plan daily OB shipments with carriers.
  • Ship and track outbound shipments to DC and troubleshoot any delivery issues.
  • Report key performance metrics of OB carriers and IB dray providers to Director of NA Logistics
  • Ensure proper record keeping of training and safety programs
  • Lead team utilizing work procedures/standards and work schedules to assure efficient workflow
  • Review warehouse records for accuracy
  • Confirm the transload facility is at all times FTZ compliant, and prepared for Customs office visits and inspections.
  • Communicate with Moreno Valley DC on daily tasks, variances, shipment issues, planning
  • Work with HR Partners for consistent adherence to attendance, company policy and performance management expectations.
  • Follow, communicate and serve as a role model for company policies, procedures and F&D organizational goals
  • Reinforce Company's Mission, Vision and Values thru consistent team management practices.
  • Other duties may be assigned as appropriate and in accordance with business needs

Working Conditions (travel & environment)
  • This position is salaried, knowing it may include hours which exceed eight hours in a day or forty hours in a week. Working hours are subject to change due to business needs and working am and/or pm flexible shifts.
  • Occasional travel required including air and car travel, including travel to Moreno Valley DC as needed.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to noisy.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
Medium Work - Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
