With a leadership team of over 50 years of rail experience, USRL fills in the gaps that often exist between current and future rail shippers and the railroads themselves. USRL is a privately held company, backed by a private equity firm which hosts widely-known rail and logistics executives.

Job Description

USRL is seeking a driven sales leader in the Norfolk market responsible for developing key industry relationships, uncovering new opportunities, driving sales wins, and growing the brand of USRL

Objectives

  • Grow top line revenue through a mix of new and existing customers in all four areas of the USRL value chain
  • Meet or exceed volume and profitability targets for the USRL Portsmouth facility
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth market strategy for key territory markets
  • Seek daily touchpoints with customers, community influencers, and industry touchpoints (average 3 meaningful touch points per day)
  • Respond quickly to new customer opportunities and drive them to completion
  • Effectively utilize the USRL CRM (Pipedrive) to maintain contacts, populate and track new opportunities, and organize customer outreach campaigns
  • Represent USRL at local industry and economic development meetings and events
  • Discovery of new opportunities and ventures for USRL to participate in

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of sales or sales-related background
  • Commercial trucking sales experience
  • Rail Industry or Supply Chain Expertise
  • Effective communications both written and oral
  • Technical Skills (Email, Spreadsheets, Presentations)
  • Ability to travel (Up to 50% of work week)
  • Ability to work remote/home
