Job description

Atlantic Marine Warehouse Company Savannah, GA Full-Time | On-Site

Atlantic Marine Warehouse Company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Customer Service Account Manager to take full ownership of assigned customer accounts in our transload operations. In this critical role, you will serve as the primary point of contact between AMW, its customers, trucking providers, railroads, inspectors, and internal operations teams. You will manage customer accounts through the entire transload processโ€”from booking receipt through final invoicingโ€”while ensuring accuracy, proactive communication, accountability, and exceptional customer service.

This is more than a desk job. You will actively coordinate operations, monitor railcar and container movements, resolve issues in real time, and work closely with warehouse and operations teams to keep product moving smoothly and efficiently for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own assigned customer accounts from booking receipt through final invoicing and closeout: coordinate bookings, railcar and container movements, inventory, documentation, and shipments.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing accurate and timely updates on bookings, inventory, railcar/container status, documentation, and shipment schedules.
  • Work directly with operations personnel, forklift operators, and material handlers to support loading/unloading activities, container preparation, and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate railcar ordering, tracing, release, and status monitoring through SHIPCSX and other railroad systems.
  • Coordinate empty container deliveries and loaded container pickups with trucking providers; monitor container inventory and yard status to avoid detention, demurrage, chassis fees, or other costs.
  • Enter and maintain accurate booking information in AMW operating systems, customer portals, and other platforms; verify details, documentation, and special instructions.
  • Communicate daily with customers, trucking companies, drayage carriers, inspectors, and internal teams regarding schedules, delays, discrepancies, and operational concerns.
  • Generate customer invoices within 24 hours of job completion; verify all billable services, labor, storage, and accessorial charges.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of operational supplies (flexitanks, bars, cardboard, seals, etc.) and conduct routine audits.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and filing systems; assist with customer reporting requirements.
  • Process and resolve billing discrepancies, damage claims, and other issues quickly and professionally.
  • Develop and maintain account-specific processes, participate in continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure full compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Escalate concerns immediately when they may impact customer service, schedules, or company performance.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, rail, transloading, or supply chain operations preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and comfort learning web-based logistics systems, WMS, and railroad platforms.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and directing operational support.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to "Accuracy First Time."
  • Physical ability to work in a warehouse environment and support operations on the floor when needed.
  • Availability for occasional weekend work or overtime when required.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay based on experience
  • Full benefits package (health, dental, vision, 401k)
  • Stable, growing company with a strong safety culture
  • Hands-on training and clear career path in logistics and account management

Atlantic Marine Warehouse Company is committed to creating a diverse environment and is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
