Hardware Design Manager

TheBoeing Global Services(BGS)Government Training Engineering (GTE)teaminOklahoma Cityis seeking atalentedHardware Design Manager(K)tolead theMobility, Surveillance, andBomberstraining portfolio.(E-7, KC-46, B-52, AWACs)This teamis responsible forthe design and development of aircrew & maintenance training devices.

A successful candidate will have a deep understanding of Boeing's design practices, withexpertisein prototyping and design for manufacturing. They willpossessa strong technical background, enabling them to provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes. Their experience in Design and Production Engineering will ensure the successful translation of simulator designs into high-quality, scalable products.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day operations for amulti-disciplined hardware design team (mechanical & electrical)
  • Accountable for schedule, cost, and quality management across multiple programs
  • Efficientlyallocateresources for stable execution of work scope
  • Identifyand manage risks, issues, and opportunities
  • Developandmaintainsrelationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports
  • Provideoversight and approval of technical approaches,productsand processes
  • Manage, mentor, and develop individualdesign engineeringcontributors

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelordegreeor Higher
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader,tempmanager, large scale cross functionalproject/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership
  • Experience developing and managing large-scale project plans through the full project life cycle
  • Experience as a CAM (cost account manager) in EVM (earned value management)
  • Experience working with computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) such as CATIA, Solidworks or Siemens NX
  • Experience developing requirements and performingrequirementsdecomposition

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Systems familiarity withCMPro(ERP)andGOLDesp(MRP)
  • Experience supportingaircrewor maintenancetraining devices
  • Passion for the aerospace industryand leading technical teams
