Job Title: Installation Technician – Low Voltage Transit (Full-Time Travel)

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour + $40/day Per Diem


Are you a hands-on technician ready to travel the country and build a career in transit technology?

ESP Enterprises, Inc. — a nationally recognized leader in fare collection equipment installation and transit electronics since 2002 — is hiring full-time Installation Technicians. We are specifically recruiting candidates based in the Houston, TX area who are ready to train at our office near Willowbrook Mall and deploy on projects nationwide.


🚨 IMPORTANT: This position requires 100% out-of-state travel. You may be away from home for several months at a time. Only apply if you are fully prepared for a full-time traveling schedule.


What You'll Do

  • Remove and install low voltage fare collection and transit equipment on buses and transit vehicles
  • Run, route, and secure low voltage cabling and wiring throughout vehicle interiors
  • Strip, crimp, and terminate wiring to 12V and 24V power sources
  • Terminate connections to breakers, terminal blocks, and grounding lugs
  • Mount and fasten equipment and components per project specifications
  • Confirm correct system power-up after installation
  • Assist with on-site troubleshooting as needed
  • Keep work areas clean and organized throughout each project

What You'll Need

  • Background in electronics, electromechanical systems, construction, or a related trade
  • Minimum 1 year of CCTV installation or service experience required
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools
  • Ability to stand, bend, and crouch for extended periods on the job
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to commit to full project durations
  • Must own a basic set of hand tools
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Able to pass background check and pre-employment drug screening
  • Willing and able to travel out-of-state full time — this is non-negotiable
  • Available to work nights and weekends as project schedules require

Compensation & Benefits

  • 💰 $20.00 – $22.00 per hour
  • 🏨 $40.00 per diem daily (travel days included)

Schedule

Work hours vary based on transit agency access and bus availability. Evening, overnight, and weekend shifts are common.
