What is a transit security officer?

Transit Security officers are professionals responsible for ensuring the safety and security of passengers, employees, and property within public transportation systems, such as buses, trains, and subways. Their duties include patrolling transit areas, monitoring surveillance equipment, responding to incidents, and enforcing rules and regulations. They work closely with law enforcement agencies to prevent crime, manage emergencies, and assist with investigations when necessary. Transit Security officers help create a safe and secure environment for everyone using public transit.

How does a transit security officer typically collaborate with other staff and law enforcement agencies during incidents?

Transit Security officers work closely with transit operators, supervisors, and local law enforcement agencies to ensure passenger and staff safety. During incidents, they are often the first responders, responsible for assessing the situation, providing immediate assistance, and communicating accurate information to the appropriate authorities.
