Job Summary
To ensure safe, reliable, and professional transportation for students, staff, faculty, and visitors of Tuskegee University.
Essential Job Duties
  • Follow assigned routes and timetables unless rerouted by dispatch or in emergencies.
  • Maintain punctuality for all route departures and arrivals.
  • Notify dispatch immediately of delays, breakdowns, or route obstructions.
  • Greet passengers courteously and answer general questions respectfully.
  • Ensure boarding and de-boarding occur at designated stops only.
  • Provide assistance to passengers with disabilities in accordance with ADA regulations.
  • Wear a uniform or university-issued ID badge while on duty.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
  • No smoking, eating, or loud music while operating the vehicle.
  • Follow safety and emergency protocols.
  • Follow Rules & Regulations

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)
  • Hold a valid Class B CDL with Passenger (P) Endorsement.
  • Maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and pass background checks as required.
  • Successfully complete university orientation and driver safety training.
  • Pass a DOT-compliant physical examination.
  • Participate in random chug and alcohol testing as mandated by the FMCSA.
