Job Description
Job Title: Nurse Practitioner - Neonatology
Profession: Advanced Practice

License: Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner
Certifications: Board certified in Neonatology preferred or Board Eligible. NRP certification required.
Must-Have: Skills in intubation, chest tube placement, placement of central lines, paracentesis, spinal taps, exchange transfusion, thermal cooling, and ventilator management including oscillators and iNO.
Description:
Schedule is 6 am - 6 pm in the facility, with 6 pm - 6 am on-call hours.
Dates of the assignment include 10/14 to 10/19 and 10/24 to 11/1.
The facility is a Level III NICU without surgical sub-specialties.
Common cases treated include Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Pulmonary Hypertension, Pneumothorax, Sepsis, Seizures, and stabilization of surgical cases for transport.
The team consists of knowledgeable RNs with strong clinical skills who work collaboratively.
Respiratory Therapy is an integral part of the team, supporting conventional ventilators, oscillators, iNO, CPAP, and high flow cannulas.
The facility has been established since the early 70s and upgraded to a new hospital facility in 2019.
Available diagnostics include full equipment for MRI, CT, EEG, and an EHR system.
Ancillary services and physician specialists support Neonatology including General Pediatrics, Pediatric Client, and Infectious Disease.
Consultation contracts are available with specialized services for cardiology and ophthalmology.
The community is recognized as one of the best places to live by a major health and outdoors publication.
Patient encounters per shift are approximately 10.
The facility has 21 beds in the department.
The trauma level for this facility is 2.
PALS certification is required for this position.
