This position will work within a highly visible transformation program and partner with teams across Human Resources, Technology, Data, Legal, Compliance, and external implementation resources.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the data-related workstreams of a large-scale HR systems transformation. This individual will help coordinate the transition from multiple legacy platforms to a unified cloud-based HCM solution.

The Project Manager will serve as a key partner to program leadership, bringing structure, accountability, and execution discipline to initiatives involving data migration, governance, reporting, security, risk management, and system implementation.

The ideal candidate combines strong project management capabilities with an understanding of enterprise data concepts. Candidates should have experience supporting major HR technology implementations, preferably involving Oracle HCM or another large enterprise platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project activities across HR data conversion, governance, reporting, security, archival, and data quality workstreams.
  • Partner closely with program and workstream leadership to organize priorities, timelines, deliverables, and required decisions.
  • Maintain an integrated project plan that captures milestones, dependencies, ownership, and progress across multiple teams.
  • Coordinate activities between internal stakeholders, technical teams, functional resources, and third-party implementation partners.
  • Monitor project risks, issues, decisions, and dependencies, escalating concerns with clear context and proposed next steps.
  • Support data migration and validation cycles by coordinating reviews, documenting outcomes, and tracking remediation efforts.
  • Maintain visibility into data quality defects and ensure issues are prioritized and resolved according to implementation timelines.
  • Help align conversion activities with downstream impacts to reporting, integrations, access controls, and security models.
  • Facilitate project meetings, workshops, status discussions, and decision-making sessions.
  • Prepare agendas, status reports, presentation materials, action logs, and project documentation.
  • Capture decisions, assign ownership, and follow up with stakeholders to ensure commitments are completed.
  • Coordinate inputs from HR, Technology, Data, Legal, Compliance, and business teams.
  • Support change management activities by helping organize communications, training materials, and user guidance.
  • Ensure project activities account for data privacy, governance, risk, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide day-to-day support to program leadership and proactively address gaps that could affect delivery.
  • Maintain organized records of requirements, project artifacts, decisions, risks, and outstanding actions.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of project management experience supporting enterprise systems, HR technology, data transformation, or related initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience working on a major system implementation, migration, or enterprise transformation.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle HCM, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, or another large Human Capital Management platform.
  • Previous involvement in HR systems implementation projects is required.
  • Strong understanding of project planning, milestone tracking, risk management, issue resolution, and dependency management.
  • Working knowledge of data-related concepts such as migration, conversion, cleansing, validation, governance, quality, structure, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience coordinating reporting, security, access, compliance, or data governance workstreams.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to drive accountability across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with implementation partners, vendors, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate effectively within a large, complex enterprise environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with limited oversight.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, Monday.com, Smartsheet, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to remain productive in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements and priorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Information Systems, Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting global HR technology or data transformation programs.
  • Background working within a large, matrixed organization.
  • Direct experience with Oracle HCM Cloud implementations.
  • Familiarity with HR reporting, role-based security, and data governance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of data privacy, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk management.
  • Experience consolidating multiple legacy systems into a single cloud platform.
  • PMP, Agile, Scrum, or related project management certification.

Additional Details:

  • Chicago-area candidates who can work in a hybrid capacity will receive priority consideration.
  • Remote candidates with highly relevant experience may also be considered.
  • This is a highly visible role supporting a global HR transformation program.
  • Candidates must have previous experience with large-scale system implementations.
  • The position requires frequent collaboration across HR, Data, Technology, Security, Legal, Compliance, and vendor teams.
  • The interview process consists of two rounds followed by a hiring decision.

Perks:

  • Opportunity to support a major global HR technology transformation.
