Job description

In this hybrid role based at our Chicago Headquarters, you will lead analytics and strategy for products such as credit card, HELOC, and Auto/RV lending by delivering rigorous analysis of market dynamics, business performance, member behavior, portfolio economics, growth opportunities, risk and return tradeoffs, and competitive positioning. Translate complex business questions into actionable insights, targeting strategies, and recommendations that improve member value, strengthen product competitiveness, and support financial performance. Partner with business leaders such as finance, credit risk, marketing and operations to align customer targeting, approve or decline pricing, and portfolio management policies across products.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead analytics across credit card, HELOC, and Auto/RV lending to evaluate business performance, market trends, portfolio dynamics, member behavior, growth opportunities, and performance gaps.
  • Develop analytical frameworks and recommendations for strategy, pricing, targeting, acquisition, retention, portfolio management, and business planning decisions while partnering with credit risk and other strategy stakeholders.
  • Analyze key performance indicators such as application volume, approval rates, booked loans, balances, utilization, activation, spend, attrition, credit quality, delinquencies, losses, margin, fee income, rewards cost, profitability, and member engagement.
  • Partner with leaders and functional partners to understand strategic priorities, frame high-value analytical questions, and identify opportunities to improve member value, product competitiveness, risk-adjusted returns, and overall business results.
  • Support business partners in developing targeting criteria, offer strategies, and segmentation approaches that deliver member value through competitive rates and offers while managing credit risk, profitability, capital, and return targets.
  • Use SQL and analytical coding tools to extract, transform, integrate, and analyze large datasets from internal and external sources, ensuring analyses are reproducible, well-controlled, and grounded in sound methodology.
  • Prepare analyses, business cases, strategic recommendations, and performance narratives for leadership meetings, business reviews, investment decisions, and planning discussions.
  • Support forecasting, scenario analysis, target setting, and financial planning by assessing historical results, current trends, market conditions, portfolio behavior, and key business drivers.
  • Participate in data infrastructure initiatives in partnership with data governance, data services, technology, information security, and business teams to improve accessibility, quality, usability, documentation, and ease of analytics for lending data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to assess member journeys, application and funding processes, credit strategies, pricing constructs, and operational friction points that influence conversion, experience, risk outcomes, and financial performance.
  • Maintain documentation for analytical logic, assumptions, data sources, metric definitions, code, model outputs, data limitations, and recurring analytical processes.
  • Plan, oversee and lead the work of the team to meet functional and individual operational objectives and goals. Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities. Responsible for hire, fire, performance, discipline and problem-resolution decisions.

Education & Years of Experience

  • Minimum - 4 Year Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Statistics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related
  • Preferred - Graduate Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Statistics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related
  • Minimum - 7 Years of Consumer lending analytics, credit analytics, portfolio management, financial analysis, marketing analytics, product strategy, pricing analytics, or related
  • Minimum - 4 Years of People management

In Lieu of Education

  • 9 Years of Consumer lending analytics, credit card analytics, portfolio analytics, financial analysis, marketing analytics, risk analytics, product strategy, pricing analytics, data analysis, or related analytical experience, including people management

Compensation & Benefits:

Typical hiring range:‏‏‎ ‎ $133,700.00 to $229,200.00‎ Annually. Actual compensation will be determined using factors such as experience, skills & knowledge.
