Transfer Driver

In this role you will help support the U-Haul community by transporting equipment to and from the repair shop, ensuring that customers can continue to receive the highest quality of care.

Whether you are looking for your first job in the industry or have vehicle-repair experience already, U-Haul is the place for you! We have the largest fleet of trucks and trailers in the industry, and we need a first-class team to keep them maintained for our customers. We add to our fleet each year, which ensures that you will always be transporting and working on the latest new equipment.

As a U-Haul Transfer Driver, you will use U-Haul Company's proprietary technology to assess and care for field vehicles. U-Haul provides the support and tools you need to succeed and grow, so if you want a job with endless opportunities for career growth, apply today!

Transfer Driver Primary Responsibilities:

  • Fill in receipt and intake paperwork electronically.

  • Transport U-Haul equipment between U-Haul centers, dealerships and the repair shop.

  • Perform visual inspections of equipment.

  • Maintain a driver log.

  • Team Members are expected to willingly lend assistance in additional areas as necessary, following the directives and guidance of their supervisor.

Transfer Driver Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license

  • Able to use mobile transfer programs

  • D.O.T. certification if required-can be sponsored by U-Haul

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
