Transactional paralegals assist lawyers with documents and contracts pertaining to real estate deals. In this role, your primary duties involve researching real estate laws and regulations in your local area, reviewing applications and accompanying documents, drafting sales contracts, preparing closing documents, assisting with legal inquiries, and maintaining a real estate portfolio. Though the job does not involve practicing law, you must have a strong knowledge of all relevant laws, especially real estate law, and understand the documents required to complete a business deal. You find transactional paralegals in real estate law firms or general firms that have a real estate department, and some are independent contractors.
