Job Description:
At Regions, the Diversified and Specialized Industries Analyst serves as the primary analytical support for senior coverage bankers and credit products specialists. This position supports them in the following processes: origination, underwriting, execution, and portfolio management of traditional corporate banking products and services. This includes loan syndications, various capital markets products, and strategic and financial advisory services. Analysts provide these services as part of a client team that also consists of Associates, Vice Presidents, and Directors/Managing Directors. Analysts are expected to split time between the following: supporting pitches and live deal underwriting across the full spectrum of products and services, supporting general advisory assignments, portfolio management responsibilities, and research/analytical support. Analysts typically work for three (3) years before having the opportunity to advance to the Associate position. This position reports through the Diversified and Specialized Industries client coverage and credit products organizations for Regions Bank and Regions Securities LLC.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Supports senior bankers by conducting research, staying abreast of client and industry trends, and by offering insights for client and industry related strategic and tactical planning
  • Prepares written material, including pitches, proposals, and client materials in preparation for client meetings
  • Participates and occasionally contributes in client meetings, due diligence visits, and other client interactions during which they gain exposure to key executives and senior bankers
  • Drafts and refines underwriting materials for the credit approval process including credit screening memos and strategic approval memos with associated supporting analyses
  • Conducts ongoing portfolio monitoring of an assigned portfolio of clients including preparation of credit monitoring memos, taking strong ownership of assignments
  • Maintains proprietary databases through monitoring news, current events, transactions, and financial information for clients, prospects and other industry participants
  • Deepens understanding of client needs and identifies Regions' products and services, or other unique, actionable ideas that can help clients achieve their goals
  • Develops and maintains detailed financial models to value companies and depict projected financial results
  • Ensures high quality client deliverables through strong written communication, presentation skills, and attention to detail
  • Conducts extensive financial and industry due diligence to evaluate the risk/return parameters and mitigating factors of a transaction

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
This position is incentive eligible.
Analyst program length may be 2 or more years. Emerging Talent Program Analysts start with a six-week training program before beginning work within their business unit (this will not apply to hires outside of the Emerging Talent Program).
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with proven record of high achievement
  • One (1) year of related experience
  • Coursework in financial accounting and corporate finance

Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

Incentive Pay Plans:
This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive plan. Employees have the potential to receive a discretionary award based on performance against defined metrics and goals.
