What is a trans friendly job?

A Trans Friendly job is a position within a workplace that actively supports and respects transgender and non-binary individuals. This includes policies that protect against discrimination, inclusive healthcare benefits, the use of correct names and pronouns, and a culture of acceptance. These jobs are often found in companies that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

What does it mean for a workplace or service to be trans friendly?

A 'trans friendly' workplace or service is one that actively supports, respects, and includes transgender and gender non-conforming individuals. This means providing a safe environment free from discrimination or harassment, using correct names and pronouns, offering inclusive facilities, and having policies that protect trans rights. Trans friendly environments often provide diversity training and resources to educate staff and foster understanding. Such spaces encourage everyone to be their authentic selves, contributing to overall well-being and productivity.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a transgender inclusion specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Transgender Inclusion Specialist, you need expertise in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles, along with experience in LGBTQ+ advocacy and relevant educational credentials. Familiarity with DEI assessment tools, training platforms, and legal frameworks for workplace inclusion is typically required. Strong communication, cultural sensitivity, and conflict resolution skills are essential for fostering respectful and supportive environments. These skills ensure organizational policies and practices are inclusive, promoting safety, belonging, and equitable opportunities for transgender individuals.

What can I expect from the work environment in a company that is actively trans friendly?

In a trans-friendly workplace, you can generally expect an inclusive environment where policies and practices are in place to support transgender employees. This often includes access to gender-neutral restrooms, the use of preferred names and pronouns, and comprehensive non-discrimination policies. Teams tend to be supportive, with HR and management providing resources for professional development and ensuring that all employees feel safe and respected. Additionally, there may be employee resource groups and ongoing training to promote diversity and inclusion, making it a positive space for career growth.

The platform is built on Informatica Intelligent Data Cloud, including Customer 360, Business 360, Data Quality, Cloud Data Integration (CDI), Cloud Application Integration (CAI), and Administrator.

This is an opportunity to work on a high-impact, enterprise-scale data platform, helping to shape how customer data is structured, governed, and used across the organisation to drive better insights and decision-making.

What you'll be doing

You'll take a lead role in the design, development, and continuous improvement of the CDM platform, including:

  • Designing integration processes (CDI/API) using best practices across platforms such as SAP, Snowflake, Adobe, Salesforce, and Mulesoft
  • Defining and implementing best practices for data quality, match & merge, survivorship, and enrichment
  • Developing workflows and integrations across C360 and R360 using CAI and APIs
  • Supporting platform configuration, including secure agents, SSO, network setup, and user provisioning
  • Maintaining user roles, permissions, and reference data
  • Contributing to solution design sessions and technical decision-making
  • Conducting code reviews, sprint health checks, and platform demonstrations to stakeholders
  • Ensuring data quality, integrity, and compliance with regulations such as GDPR and CCPA
  • Producing and maintaining clear technical documentation
  • Driving continuous improvement across customer data processes and platform capabilities

About you

You're an experienced Informatica developer who enjoys working at the intersection of data, technology, and business impact. You're comfortable taking ownership of complex data platforms and thrive in environments where you can influence design, improve processes, and deliver high-quality solutions.

You combine strong technical expertise with a collaborative mindset, working effectively with stakeholders, engineers, and business teams. You're proactive, detail-oriented, and motivated by building scalable, reliable data solutions that enable better decision-making.

What you'll need

  • Hands-on experience with Informatica CDM, ideally the SaaS platform, including Customer 360, Business 360, Reference 360, Data Quality, and Administration
  • Proven experience building, configuring, testing, and deploying Informatica C360 solutions
  • Strong experience designing and developing data integrations (CDI), including both ingestion and egress patterns
  • Strong experience designing and developing API using Informatica CAI.
  • Solid SQL skills and a strong understanding of data modelling and relational databases
  • Experience working with modern data ecosystems and integrations (e.g. SAP, Snowflake, Salesforce, Mulesoft, Adobe)
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and integration design patterns
  • Experience working in Agile environments, with the ability to organise and manage delivery across different methodologies
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and regulatory compliance (e.g. GDPR, CCPA)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes
  • Experience using tools such as JIRA and Confluence
