Company Description Trans-Pro Transportation is a student-focused transportation provider committed to safe, reliable, and timely school bus services. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site School Bus Driver role located in Fort Washington, MD. The School Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, field trips, and approved activities while following assigned routes and schedules. Day-to-day tasks include performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, operating the bus in a safe and defensive manner, and complying with all traffic laws and school district policies. The driver will assist students in boarding and exiting the bus as needed, maintain orderly conduct, and report any incidents, mechanical issues, or route changes to the appropriate personnel. This role also involves communicating clearly and respectfully with students, families, school staff, and dispatch, and completing required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.

Qualifications

  • Strong commercial driving capabilities, including Truck Driving experience and a valid CDL Class B (with appropriate endorsements for school bus operation).
  • Proficiency in Defensive Driving techniques and adherence to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Effective Communication skills for interacting with students, families, school staff, and colleagues.
  • Customer Service orientation, with the ability to remain calm, respectful, and professional in all situations.
  • Clean driving record and the ability to meet all federal, state, and local requirements for school bus drivers.
  • Ability to pass background checks, drug and alcohol screenings, and physical examinations as required.
  • Reliability in attendance, punctuality, and following assigned routes and schedules.
  • Experience working with children or in an educational or transportation setting is beneficial.
