Experience Level: Senior (Level 3) - Minimum 10 years experience
Clearance Required: TS/SCI with CI Polygraph
Location: National Capital Region (NCR) or San Antonio, TX

The Senior Technical Writer develops and maintains comprehensive, user-friendly documentation for the unified AMS/FIPE solution. This position creates documentation tailored for users with varying technical knowledge levels, ensuring operators can effectively utilize system capabilities. The writer works closely with development teams, SMEs, and users to produce accurate, accessible documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain user guides, installation instructions, and integration guides
  • Develop training materials with clear examples and illustrations
  • Write and update release notes for each deployment
  • Create troubleshooting documentation and FAQs
  • Develop in-program tutorials for complex concepts
  • Coordinate documentation reviews with independent reviewers
  • Maintain documentation in Government-approved repositories
  • Apply appropriate classification and distribution markings
  • Support knowledge transfer and transition activities
  • Ensure documentation meets 508 compliance requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of technical writing experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, or related field (or equivalent)
  • Experience documenting complex software systems
  • Proficiency with documentation tools (Confluence, Markdown, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of software development processes
  • Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Experience writing documentation in classified environments
  • Knowledge of style guides and documentation standards
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Must be U.S. citizen

Salary & Benefits

The salary associated with this position ($99,000-$206,000) is commensurate with the selected candidate's qualifications, years of relevant experience, and demonstrated level of expertise. Compensation will be determined based on these factors to ensure alignment with skills, responsibilities, and market standards.
