Job description

The primary function of the Traveling Superintendent is to oversee and manage all phases of a concrete construction project, including planning, coordination, and supervision of workers. The main goal is to ensure that all projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining all safety regulations.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Initial plan review and scope
  • Review project manpower and durations with OM/PM
  • Create a list of RFI's for the project
  • Identify change orders on the project
  • Understand, coordinate, and manage schedule on the project
  • Understand, coordinate, and manage materials on the project
  • Coordination and scheduling of subcontractors (Iron Workers, Tilt Panel Patchers, Place and Finish Subcontractors)
  • Attend all weekly meetings on the project
  • Daily operations and scheduling of manpower on the project
  • Daily communications and coordination with general contractor
  • Coordinate schedule changes with project manager and operations manager
  • Track and fill out all T amp;M tickets on a daily basis
  • Correct time, daily, and safety reports (gather information from foreman for reporting)
  • Quality control and daily job site cleanliness
  • Coordination with other trades on site
  • Ensure all orientations are complete for new hires and subcontracts on site as required
  • Responsible for daily production goals and execution
  • Communicate any potential risk or "road blocks" with PM/OM
  • Understand and evaluate daily field conditions (weather, evaporation rate, site accessibility, etc.)
  • Identify and assist with training and development of the field crews
