Job description

At Oxygen8, we're driven by a simple mission: to make indoor spaces healthier and buildings more energy-efficient. Our 100% electric ventilation systems improve air quality, reduce carbon footprints, and help people feel safe and comfortable in the spaces where they live, work, and play.

Since 2019, we've grown from a single solution into a portfolio of flexible systems designed for how buildings are actually built and used. We value creativity, collaboration, and ownership – here, your ideas can shape solutions that make a real difference.

Working at Oxygen8 means joining a fast-moving, innovative team where problem-solving and continuous improvement are part of the culture. Our momentum has been recognized along the way: in 2025, we were named Vancouver's #1 fastest-growing company, and in 2024, we earned Company of the Year – Scale from the BC Tech Association, ranked #1 in Clean Technology on the Deloitte Technology Fast 50, and #28 on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500.

About the Role

In this role, you will become a trusted technical expert for Oxygen8's ERV, DOAS, and HVAC control systems, supporting customers and partners across North America. You'll solve complex technical challenges, provide commissioning support, and help ensure the successful operation of our products in the field. Beyond day-to-day troubleshooting, you'll contribute to technical training, improve support documentation, and collaborate with Engineering, Product Development, and Operations teams to drive continuous improvement. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, customer interaction, and developing deep expertise in advanced HVAC and building automation technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide remote technical support through phone, email, remote access, and the ticketing system.
  • Travel within Canada and the United States when required for critical startups, customer training, product validation, or complex troubleshooting (approximately 10% travel).
  • Respond to customer and representative inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, controls, and BAS issues remotely.
  • Act as the technical liaison between customers, sales, applications, production, engineering, and service teams.
  • Own and maintain commissioning and technical support tickets from initiation through resolution.
  • Coordinate and support equipment startups and commissioning activities remotely.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve technical training programs for internal staff, representatives, contractors, and customers.
  • Create and manage training documentation, presentations, videos, SOPs, commissioning guides, troubleshooting manuals, and knowledge base articles.
  • Deliver instructor-led and virtual technical training sessions.
  • Maintain and improve technical documentation across all product lines.
  • Investigate recurring field issues and recommend product and process improvements.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, commissioning reports, and technical resolutions.
  • Continuously develop expertise in HVAC technologies, controls systems, BACnet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and emerging industry trends.
Experience and Skills
  • 2+ years of experience in HVAC controls, commissioning, building automation systems (BAS), technical support, or related field.
  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Ability to travel throughout Canada and the United States (approximately 10%).
  • Strong HVAC troubleshooting and commissioning knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, controls, and BAS integration.
  • Working knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and related communication protocols.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues remotely while maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation capabilities.
  • Experience creating or delivering technical training programs is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable presenting technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Highly coachable with a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with Daikin VRV systems or products is considered an asset.
Additional Information

Please note: This position focuses on HVAC equipment, controls, commissioning, technical training, and product support for Oxygen8's ERV and DOAS product lines. It is not an IT help desk, desktop support, software support, or network support role. The successful candidate will be supporting HVAC products and technologies, while working closely with customers, representatives, Engineering, Product Development, Manufacturing, and Operations teams.
