Training Programs For information

What are training programs for?

Training programs for employees are organized activities designed to enhance workers' skills, knowledge, and performance in their current roles. These programs can include on-the-job training, workshops, seminars, online courses, or mentorship opportunities. They help employees adapt to new technologies, comply with regulations, and grow professionally within an organization. Effective training programs contribute to higher job satisfaction, improved productivity, and reduced turnover.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals managing training programs?

Professionals managing training programs often encounter challenges such as balancing diverse learning needs across participants, staying updated with the latest training technologies, and measuring the effectiveness of training outcomes. Additionally, coordinating schedules and resources, as well as ensuring active engagement from all participants, can be complex. Successful training program managers are adaptable and proactive in problem-solving, often collaborating closely with subject matter experts, HR, and department leads to create impactful learning experiences.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a training program coordinator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Training Program Coordinator, you need expertise in instructional design, program management, and adult learning principles, often supported by a degree in education, human resources, or a related field. Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), e-learning authoring tools, and relevant certifications like CPTD or ATD are highly valuable. Strong organizational skills, communication, and the ability to motivate and engage learners help set candidates apart. These skills ensure training programs are effective, well-organized, and drive measurable development outcomes for participants.

Job description

About Us
AllRock Consulting Ltd. is a fast growing and innovative geotechnical, materials and Environmental engineering company. AllRock’s geotechnical engineers, and materials specialists are focused on solving design, construction, and rehabilitation issues impacting the communities in which we work and live. By pairing cutting-edge site investigation technology with tried-and-true experience, we bring unparalleled expertise to the entire geotechnical spectrum—from planning and investigation, to execution and quality control.

AllRock works with clients in the pre-construction phases of a project to discover and examine what lies beneath their construction project. Our team collaborates with clients during the design phases to ensure they have all the geotechnical information needed to complete a successful project. This information allows projects to be completed on time and on budget, by working through problems upfront rather than during construction.

AllRock is proud to say that we are a 100% owned and operated Mi'kmaq First Nations company. The Qalipu Mi'kmaq First Nations & Millbrook Mi'kmaq First Nations are proudly represented through our owners and senior management. We are proud to be registered as a Certified Aboriginal Business with the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business. Indigenous candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Why Work With AllRock Consulting Limited
Our commitment to supporting the whole person is reflected in how we reward our employees:

  • Competitive salaries paired with an exceptional benefits package, including critical illness, long-term disability, life insurance, and comprehensive health and dental coverage.
  • A Health Spending Account to help manage your medical expenses.
  • Generous vacation time, paid personal days, and sick time to prioritize your well-being and that of your family.
  • Financial assistance for professional development, along with flexible scheduling to help you balance work and family life.

The Position – Safety Professional – NCSO or CRSP
AllRock currently operates seven office locations, three in Newfoundland (Corner Brook, Mount Pearl, and Gander) and four in Ontario (Toronto, Ottawa, London, and Barrie) and we are looking to hire a Part-time/Fractional Safety Professional – NCSO or CSRP who will take ownership of our safety program, ensuring policies and procedures are current, compliant, and consistently applied. This role will focus on field execution, accountability, and cultural change, working closely with project managers and crews to embed safety into every aspect of planning and operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Drive a culture of safety by working closely with workers and project managers to embed safety into planning and daily operations.
  • Review and update safety policies and procedures to meet OH&S and client requirements.
  • Overhaul and maintain the Safe Work Practice (SWP) library, ensuring all procedures are covered and current.
  • Ensure consistent execution of Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs), SWPs, and toolbox talks across all sites.
  • Implement robust training and competency verification for all staff.
  • Lead monthly safety meetings and training programs, and drive engagement in weekly toolbox talks.
  • Maintaining ISN NetWorld, Avetta, Cognibox, and COR certifications.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with PPE requirements and safe work procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments on construction sites.
  • Lead incident investigations, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance, coach supervisors, and hold teams accountable for safety performance.
  • Report safety performance and trends to leadership, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay informed on regulatory changes and industry best practices, recommending updates to strengthen the safety program.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees, addressing safety concerns and guiding best practices.

LOCATION: The successful candidate does not need to reside in St. John’s. This role supports operations across Newfoundland and Ontario. Candidates based anywhere in Newfoundland and Ontario are welcome to apply.

START DATE: TBD

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:

  • Bachelors degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Safety Management, Construction Management or similar (Minimum requirement is a college diploma and related experience)
