Job description

The People Development Training Specialist helps bring learning to life across our Distribution Centers and Art Studio by creating and delivering practical training that helps employees build skills, improve performance, and work safely and consistently. This role partners closely with operational leaders to develop engaging learning experiences, support process standardization, and ensure employees have the knowledge and tools they need to succeed.

In This Role

  • Assess learning and training needs and create goals and objectives for training programs 
  • Curate, develop, and deliver skills-based training programs for frontline and operational employees 
  • Create training materials, facilitator guides, participant resources, job aids, and learning activities 
  • Facilitate engaging instructor-led, virtual, and hands-on training experiences 
  • Create training schedules and track participation, completion, and effectiveness 
  • Develop flexible learning interventions that support a variety of learning styles and employee needs 
  • Partner with leaders to identify operational training needs and performance gaps 
  • Spend time on the floor observing workflows, building relationships, and identifying opportunities to improve employee capability and effectiveness 
  • Facilitate onboarding, cross-training, and job-specific training for frontline employees, including coordinating and improving the first-week onboarding experience to ensure employees have the knowledge, resources, and support needed for success 
  • Partner with subject matter experts to capture institutional knowledge and translate it into learning resources 
  • Support adoption of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation 
  • Support training initiatives related to new systems, equipment, and operational changes 
  • Conduct training audits to ensure training materials and SOPs remain accurate, relevant, and aligned with current business practices 
  • Conduct surveys, interviews, observations, and data analysis to evaluate training effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities 
  • Manage learning content and training records within the Learning Management System (LMS) 
  • Track and report on learning participation, completion, and impact metrics 
  • Keep current on industry trends, learning technologies, and adult learning best practices 
  • Support People Development initiatives and projects 
  • Other duties as assigned, in accordance with training and qualifications

The Ideal Person

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required, with the ability to effectively communicate and facilitate training across diverse employee populations
  • Bachelor's degree in Learning & Development, Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business, or a related field; or equivalent education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience designing, facilitating, and managing training programs in manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, retail, production, or other operational environments
  • Experience developing and delivering training for frontline employees
  • Experience creating SOPs, work instructions, process documentation, and training materials
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and learning technologies
  • Experience administering and maintaining programs within a Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence employees at all levels
  • Ability to assess training needs, measure effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement using data
  • Experience supporting diverse learning needs and adapting training approaches preferred
