TELUS Health is a global-leading health and wellbeing provider - encompassing physical, mental and financial health - improving health outcomes for consumers, patients, healthcare professionals, employers and employees. We work to leverage the power of technology and our caring cultures to progress our goal of building a healthier and friendlier future for all.

OUR TEAM AND WHAT WE'LL ACCOMPLISH TOGETHER

Our Defined Contribution Retirement Solutions team is at the center of an exciting market shift. Canadian mid-market employers are increasingly transitioning to defined contribution retirement programs, and TELUS Health is positioned to capture significant market share in this high-growth segment. As our Account Executive, you will play a critical role in growing our sales funnel within our Retirement & Benefits Solutions practice and helping to achieve overall sales targets.

This role is a career-defining opportunity to do innovative and meaningful work with a talented, collaborative team. You'll be part of a company making a tangible difference - improving businesses and lives by building healthier, happier workplaces. You'll expand your knowledge across different lines of business, growing exponentially while building genuine, long-term relationships with clients. We support your growth through our extensive sales training program (the first company in Canada to have sales training accredited by the CPSA), a large sales enablement team, and a culture that encourages professional and personal learning.

You'll also enjoy flexibility to work in-office, virtually, or a combination of both; excellent employee benefits; a generous pension and share plan with matching; and discounts on TELUS products and services.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Act as a business developer to generate new sales opportunities with mid-market employers (500-5,000 employees) and benefits consultants seeking defined contribution retirement solutions.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan and strategy for Canadian Defined Contribution Retirement Administration Commercial Outsourcing sales, identifying target accounts and nurturing a strong pipeline of opportunities.
  • Spend approximately 40% of your time prospecting and qualifying new opportunities, 30% preparing RFP responses and presentations with internal delivery teams, and 30% managing and nurturing your existing pipeline.
  • Actively participate in client pursuits, RFP submissions, and finalist presentations, collaborating directly with our Implementation Manager, Product Specialist, and Account Management team to position TELUS Health as a top-tier provider.
  • Participate in professional association and industry networking events to maintain a network and position TELUS Health with search consultants and potential clients.
  • Identify staffing and tools needed to support your sales plan and success.
  • Own your portfolio and adjust your strategy proactively if sales targets are not on track, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Meet accountable, measurable sales targets established jointly with management; your compensation is directly tied to hitting or exceeding these targets.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 7+ years of progressive commercial sales experience, with a demonstrated track record of success in managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and consultative, solution-based selling (not transactional sales).
  • Strong understanding of employer retirement and benefits program delivery - experience with defined contribution, defined benefits, health and wellness administration, or related financial services/insurance products is preferred. We'll train on what you don't know.
  • Proven ability to build and nurture trusted advisor relationships, prioritizing client needs while balancing organizational objectives. You can analyze complex, layered situations; research options; exercise sound judgment; and solve problems with creativity and rigor.
  • Project management expertise and ownership mindset. You manage multiple concurrent projects at different stages from end to end, ask intelligent questions to identify root causes, and have excellent organizational skills to adapt seamlessly to changing priorities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills - you can influence without authority, work in partnership across teams and executives, and have exceptional written, verbal, and presentation abilities. You are highly collaborative, genuinely interested in understanding others' perspectives, and skilled at addressing concerns and resolving conflict.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within Canada an estimated 4-6 times per year to support client visits and industry networking events.
