As a vital member of our Training and Development team, you will help build the technical capability of advisor teams by designing and delivering foundational training on core financial planning topics, including net worth reporting and cash flow analysis. This role is focused on translating complex planning principles into clear, actionable learning experiences that enable advisors, planners and analysts to serve clients with confidence, consistency, and quality.

We are seeking a highly organized, technically strong, and collaborative training professional who can design curriculum, deliver engaging instruction, and partner with stakeholders across Goldman Sachs Wealth Management, to ensure training is aligned to business priorities, advisor needs, and evolving client planning expectations.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

  • Design and Deliver Core Planning Training: Develop and facilitate training for advisor teams on foundational financial planning topics, including building net worth reports, understanding cash flow, and applying core planning principles in client conversations.
  • Create Practical, Advisor-Focused Curriculum: Design training, case studies, and reference materials that help advisor teams apply technical concepts in a clear, consistent, and client-focused manner.
  • Partner Across Goldman Sachs Wealth Management: Collaborate with stakeholders in Product, Family Office, and other business areas to develop and maintain a coordinated training curriculum that reflects business priorities, platform capabilities, and planning best practices.
  • Translate Technical Concepts into Actionable Learning: Simplify complex financial planning topics into engaging training content that supports knowledge retention, practical application, and consistency across advisor teams.
  • Support Continuous Curriculum Improvement: Regularly review and update training materials to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with current planning guidance, business processes, and advisor feedback.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts: Work closely with technical and planning specialists, senior advisors, project managers, and Training and Development colleagues to ensure content is accurate, scalable, and effectively delivered.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Core Financial Planning Expertise: Demonstrated understanding of foundational financial planning principles, including net worth, cash flow, investments, tax-aware planning concepts, estate planning basics, and employee benefits. CFP or CFA designation is preferred.
  • Training Design and Delivery Experience: Ability to design, develop, and deliver effective training programs for advisor teams, with a focus on practical applications, advisor readiness, and measurable learning outcomes.
  • Advisor and Client Service Orientation: Strong understanding of how advisor teams use technical planning concepts to support client conversations and deliver consistent, high-quality client experiences.
  • Stakeholder Management and Collaboration: Proven ability to work across teams and the Goldman Sachs Wealth business, including Product, Family Office, technical specialists, and other partners, to build consensus and deliver aligned training solutions.
  • Attention to Detail and Quality: Strong commitment to accuracy, consistency, and high-quality execution in both training content and delivery.
  • Organizational Agility: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining focus on advisor readiness and business objectives.
  • Communication and Facilitation Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex planning topics clearly and engage a variety of audiences.
  • Drive and Follow-Through: Self-motivated professional who takes initiative, follows through, and moves work forward with urgency, accountability, and sound judgment.
  • Academic Foundation: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Industry Experience Preferred: 3-5 years of experience in financial services, financial planning, training, or a related field preferred.
  • Technology Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; experience with SharePoint, or other learning platforms is preferred.

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this Albany, NY, United States-based position is $60000-$100000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
