Job description

SUMMARY

Works independently and as part of a team to develop, create, edit, and fabricate technical training materials and learning aides for a variety of mediums (including instructor-led courses, web-based courses, virtual sessions, and videos) for use at all area training centers and through the Subaru Learning Management System (LMS).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creates and edits, guided by Technical Training Developers, materials for technical training lab activities in conjunction with courseware for the Field Training staff to keep pace with new and evolving technologies.
  • Develops new or refreshes existing technical training materials and evaluation of material content in conjunction with the Technical Training Developers.
  • Provides provide technical and operational audio/video support for the increasing amount of live, field, studio and virtual multi-media productions that are occurring at Subaru of America.
  • Fabricates technical training aids and simulators; may develop on own, and all work will be reviewed by Instructional Designers. 
  • Performs training at the National Training Center for corporate employees (e.g.: new technology training). 
  • Procures and ships course materials in support of area training centers and partners. 
  • Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the development and testing of web-based products and helps to formulate course content.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists the Technical Training Developers to deliver "Train the Trainer" sessions for Field Service Training Managers and District Service Quality Managers.
  • Works with team in creating and delivering virtual presentations video conferencing. 
  • Works with team to plan and implement Technician Competitions and other department initiatives.
  • Maintains communication with Service Engineering for future changes/updates that would affect training development.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Subaru-specific experience as Specialist, Master, or Senior Master Technician.
  • Subaru Specialist Technician, Upon Hire Required Or
  • Subaru Master Technician, Upon Hire Required Or
  • Subaru Senior Master Technician, Upon Hire Required.
  • Knowledge of audio/video technology, script writing, filming, and editing.
  • Knowledge of retailer technician environment and limitations.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient in electrical and mechanical fabrication (soldering, cutting, drilling, precision tool usage).
  • Skilled in the use of electrical test equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Associate's degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office Location: At our National Service Training Center at Camden, NJ; apart of the Greater Philadelphia Area (Philly) 
  • Hybrid Role: Remote work 2 days per week (After 90 Days Onboarding) 
  • Required Travel: 20% 
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to maneuver into confined spaces of the vehicle of study and testing of training material.
  • Able to stand for 7 hours a day while instructing.

COMPENSATION: The Recruiting hourly range for this full-time position is $30.36-$41.00 /hour. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Additionally, this role is bonus-eligible, with a target bonus percentage that provides an opportunity to earn even more based on your performance. Internal Job Grade:P1
