Job description

Location: New York & New Jersey
Role Type: Full-time
Travel: 50-70% within assigned territory
Compensation: Base salary + commission + bonuses
Website: https://motoryse.com
About MOTORYSE
MOTORYSE (https://motoryse.com) is a smart home technology company that makes retrofit motorization products for window coverings.
Our products allows dealers, installers, and integrators to motorize existing manual window shades and blinds without replacing the shade, hiring an electrician, or using special tools.
The products install in under 60 seconds and gives dealers a simple way to add smart shade automation to their existing customer base.
We are building a national dealer channel across independent window covering retailers, franchise operators, AV and custom integration firms, and specialty home furnishing stores.
This is a ground-floor opportunity to join one of the first dedicated field sales roles in the company.
About the Role
We are looking for a Territory Sales Representative to build and grow a dealer and partner network within a defined geographic territory.
This is a true hunter role.
Your main responsibility is to prospect, demo, sign, and activate new accounts that can sell, specify, install, or purchase MOTORYSE products.
Your core targets will include window covering dealers, blind and shade retailers, AV integrators, CEDIA firms, and home furnishing businesses. You will also develop new sales opportunities across senior living communities, assisted living facilities, boutique hotels, luxury hotels, property managers, interior designers, contractors, and renovation firms.
This is what makes the opportunity exciting. MOTORYSE is not just a window covering accessory. It is a retrofit automation product that can serve homeowners, seniors, hospitality operators, commercial property owners, and smart home customers.
The role is built around long-term account ownership. You earn commission on orders placed by the active dealers, partners, and accounts you bring into the network, including repeat orders over time.
Year 1 is focused on building your territory from the ground up. In Year 2 and beyond, the role evolves into a mix of new account acquisition, account management, and partner growth.
What You'll Do
Dealer Acquisition
  • Prospect and sign new dealer accounts within your assigned territory
  • Target independent window covering retailers, blind and shade stores, franchise operators, AV integrators, custom installation firms, and specialty home furnishing retailers
  • Build a territory pipeline from scratch through outbound outreach, referrals, trade events, in-person visits, and local market development
  • Conduct live in-store product demonstrations using MOTORYSE demo kits
  • Use the 60-second retrofit installation as a key selling tool during dealer presentations
Dealer Onboarding
  • Help new dealers understand the MOTORYSE product line, pricing, margins, and sales process
  • Introduce dealers to the MOTORYSE dealer portal, sales materials, training videos, and co-branded marketing assets
  • Train dealers on how to position the product to homeowners
  • Support first orders and ensure every dealer has a clear path to begin selling
Territory Management
  • Maintain an organized CRM pipeline with weekly updates
  • Submit monthly territory summaries to the Head of Sales
  • Visit active dealer accounts to maintain relationships and support reorder activity
  • Identify opportunities for multi-unit orders, contractor packages, commercial projects, and volume purchases
  • Represent MOTORYSE at regional trade shows, dealer events, and industry gatherings
  • Share market feedback, competitive insights, and dealer input with the product and marketing teams

What Success Looks Like
In your first year, success means building a strong dealer base in your territory.
You will be expected to ramp toward signing approximately 100 dealers by the end of Year 1.
By Year 2, success means:
  • Maintaining and growing your active dealer book
  • Increasing reorder frequency
  • Continuing to sign new dealers at a steady pace
  • Building a repeatable territory playbook
  • Becoming the go-to MOTORYSE contact for dealers in your region

Who We're Looking For
This role is ideal for someone who already understands the window covering, AV, smart home, home improvement, or building products channel.
You should be able to look at MOTORYSE and immediately think of dealers, installers, or integrators in your territory who would want to carry it.
The product is easy to demonstrate. Your job is to get it in front of the right people.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of B2B field sales experience
  • Experience selling into one or more of the following channels:
    • Window coverings
    • Blinds and shades
    • AV or custom integration
    • Smart home technology
    • Building products
    • Home furnishings
    • Home improvement products
  • Existing relationships with dealers, retailers, installers, franchise operators, or integrators in your territory
  • Proven ability to open new accounts and build a book of business from zero
  • Comfortable delivering in-person product demos and install walk-throughs
  • Strong prospecting discipline and comfort with cold outreach
  • CRM experience with tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, or similar platforms
  • Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel regularly within your territory

Preferred Experience
  • Direct experience in the window covering industry
  • Familiarity with dealer margins, installer economics, and showroom sales
  • Experience selling through AV, CEDIA, or custom integration channels
  • Experience launching a new product into a dealer network
  • Strong understanding of smart home products and connected home technology

Benefits
Compensation
This role includes a base salary, commission, dealer activation bonuses, and quarterly performance bonuses.
  1. Base Salary: $40,000 per year, paid monthly
  2. New Dealer Activation Bonus: $150 for each net-new dealer who places a qualifying first order (min order of 2 hero products).
  3. Commission on Sales: Up to 5%, sliding scale

Estimated Earnings at Target:
  • Year 1 - $90,000+
  • Year 2 - $115,000+
  • Year 3 - $130,000+

Earnings are based on dealer activation, reorder volume, active dealer count, and territory performance. An earnings calculator will be provided to candidates so they can model expected income based on territory growth and dealer activity.
What We Provide
  • Fuel reimbursement allowance
  • MOTORYSE demo kit and product samples
  • Dealer portal access
  • Co-branded marketing materials
  • Product training videos
  • Proposal templates
  • Referral tracking for every dealer you sign
  • One-week onboarding program covering product knowledge, CRM setup, sales process, and live demo training
  • Direct access to company leadership
  • A ground-floor opportunity to help build a national dealer channel
  • Unlimited earnings potential

Why Join MOTORYSE
This is not a maintenance sales role.
You will be building a new dealer network from the ground up with a product that is simple to understand, easy to demonstrate, and valuable to dealers.
For the right person, this is an opportunity to own a territory early, build a long-term book of business, and grow with a company expanding nationally.
