Job Description

CETS, based out of Northlake Shipyard, is offering a full time position as a Marine Electrician in and around the Puget Sound area. This electrician will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems on marine vessels and related facilities. This includes power generation, power distribution, control and communications, and panel building. Familiarity with PLC and VFDs, DNV, ABS, USCG, NEC, a plus. Daily responsibilities will include creating, reading and interpreting schematics, performing diagnostics, and insuring compliance. The role involves working closely with engineering and project teams to support new builds, retrofits, and upgrades as well as service calls and preventive maintenance. Remote travel is possible.

Responsibilities

  • Design and install electrical systems and associated components.
  • Solid understanding of electrical theory and power generation.
  • Install cable, wireway, boxes, panels, motor starters, transformers, motor controls and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot generators, shore power, distribution equipment and auxiliary systems.
  • Perform testing, using multimeters, insulation resistance testers, clamp meters.
  • Coordinate effectively with vessel owners, captains, port engineers, project managers and other trades.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience with marine electrical systems.
  • Proficient with 480V/208/240/120VAC 3PH, 24/12VDC electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable NEC, NFPA, ABYC, USCG and best marine practices.
  • PLC, automation, instrumentation or UL control planel experience a plus .
  • WA Electrical License or Trainee Card is a plus but not required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass background, security, or drug screening.
