Registered Nurse, 2F/G, Surgical/Telemetry
$15,000 Sign-on Bonus [for eligible candidates]
Unit Overview:
2F/G is a 30-bed medical surgical/ telemetry unit that specializes in telemetry patients and fast turnaround surgery including urology bariatrics, and orthopedic overflow. This unit serves our Bariatric Center of Excellence patients. Our patient population is mostly transferred from the ED and PACU.
Shift: Full-time, 1st Shift
Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness.
  • S/he honors patients' mind, body and spirit by respecting human dignity and the uniqueness of each individual.
  • Nursing practices are based on evidence and current research as well as hospital and department policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines.
  • Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity.
  • Nursing excellence is promoted through helping relationships among nursing staff and across other disciplines.
  • The Registered Nurse (RN) is an exemplar for compassion, acceptance, respect, and empathy honoring nursing as a distinct discipline and supporting an environment focused on healing and wellness.
  • As a clinical nurse, this individual spends majority of his/her time (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provision of nursing rounds, assessments and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer and discharge activities; provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable, etc.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:
  • Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
  • Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university
  • Candidate with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor's degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
  • Basic life support required [must be obtained within 30 days of hire].
  • ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of Assignment.
