Clinical Nurse Leader- Orthopaedics

We are seeking a Clinical Nurse IV- Leader to plan, provide, and document nursing care in an ambulatory care setting. Collect and analyze patient data, delegate tasks, and supervise ATC's and CMAs/RMAs. Assist other nursing personnel and providers in delivering patient care. Provide triage coverage, manage nitrous oxide, administer IV medications, provide patient teaching and care throughout the clinic. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work side-by-side with clinical staff and participate in daily care activities including, but not limited to: daily huddles, patient triage/intake/assessment/education, suture removal, wound dressings, IV/phlebotomy, and provider assistance with procedures. Perform in the charge nurse/preceptor role.
  • Collaborate with nurse manager to resolve issues, improve work flow processes through performance improvement, and participation in the interview process for new applicants.
  • Coordinate clinical staff orientation on an individual basis and consult with preceptors/orientees to provide support; ensure CBO requirements are met.
  • Plan and coordinate staff schedules to submit for manager approval; adjust staffing based on workload, patient volume, and staff competency.
  • Coach/mentor staff to enhance professional development; provide feedback on a regular basis.
  • Assist with clinical staff performance reviews.
  • Provide staff education on policy/procedures, monitor equipment maintenance, and manage supplies; be a resource when implementing new technology.
  • Maintain current knowledge of DHIP policy and procedure, Infection Control and Environment of Care standards, and requirements set forth by other regulatory agencies (ie: Joint Commission).
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager or HCA.

Job Eligibility Requirements:

  • Work requires graduation from an accredited nursing program with a BSN degree.
  • Three years of experience required.
  • Clinical Nurse II and III are eligible to apply for the CN IV Leader role. Applicants will perform the duties and responsibilities of the CN IV.
  • Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
