You will load and unload freight trucks and rail cars, relocate full pallet loads using primarily sit-down electric forklifts, and accurately track inventory using RF scanning systems and barcodes. The position supports multiple warehouse locations and plays a key role in efficient storage, handling, and distribution operations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate double-wide forklifts and 2/3/4-stage lifts to move palletized full pallet loads safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload freight trucks and rail cars containing beer, wine, soft drinks, spirits, and related products.
  • Transport palletized product throughout the warehouse using primarily sit-down electric forklifts.
  • Use RF scanning systems to track inventory, scanning barcodes on the floor and on placards to ensure accurate stock movement and documentation.
  • Perform general material handling tasks, including storage, picking, packing, and order picking as needed.
  • Support shipping and receiving operations by staging, organizing, and verifying inbound and outbound loads.
  • Operate additional warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and reach trucks as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with warehouse safety procedures.
  • Follow all operational and safety guidelines when handling products, equipment, and materials.
  • Collaborate with team members, leads, and foremen to meet production, storage, and distribution goals.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency operating sit-down forklifts, including double-wide and 2/3/4-stage lifts.
  • Experience loading and unloading freight trucks and rail cars with palletized product.
  • Ability to operate sit-down electric forklifts safely in a busy warehouse environment.
  • Hands-on experience using RF scanners and working with scannable barcodes for inventory tracking.
  • Material handling, including storage, inventory, and stockroom functions.
  • Experience in shipping and receiving operations within a warehouse or distribution setting.
  • Capability to operate pallet jacks and reach trucks or similar warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to perform order picking, packing, and production-related warehouse tasks.
  • Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and efficiency when handling products and equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Comfort working with technology-based inventory systems and RF scanning tools.
  • Interest in growing into lead roles such as floor lead, shift lead, or management positions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with seasoned foremen, management, and warehouse teams.
  • Willingness to adapt to evolving processes and procedures in a growing logistics operation.

Why Work Here?
