Job description

Purpose and Scope:

The Lead Technical Trainer is responsible for developing, leading, and delivering technical training programs for ACT-Chargers equipment, software, and service operations. This role supports internal employees, dealer networks, field service teams, and partners by ensuring consistent technical knowledge, safe work practices, and high-quality service standards.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in industrial charging systems with strong instructional and leadership abilities. This individual will also help establish scalable training processes, certification programs, and learning content as the company grows.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of technical training strategies for ACT-Charger products and Service operations
  • Create standardized onboarding and certification programs for Dealer network and their technicians, installers, and support teams
  • Develop training roadmaps for new product launches, software updates, and field service procedures
  • Manage training schedules, instructor assignments, and training resources
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for technical training initiatives
  • Evaluate trainee performance through written testing and practical demonstrations
  • Conduct in-person hands-on training sessions for:
    • Field service technicians
    • Dealer service teams
    • Customers and fleet operators
    • Installation partners
    • Internal support personnel
  • Deliver training on:
    • Material handling and ground equipment charging systems
    • Electrical fundamentals and safety
    • Charger diagnostics and troubleshooting
    • Firmware and software updates
    • Networking and communications
    • Preventive maintenance procedures
    • Installation and commissioning
  • Develop and maintain:

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Automotive Technology, Education, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in technical training, field service, or technical support
  • 5+ years of leadership or senior trainer experience
  • Experience with EV chargers, electrical systems, industrial equipment, or related technologies
  • Strong understanding of:
    • AC/DC electrical systems
    • High-voltage safety
    • Diagnostics and troubleshooting
    • Networking and communication protocols
  • Experience developing technical training materials and certification programs
  • ASE, EVITP, or electrical certifications
  • Experience in EV charging infrastructure or renewable energy industries
  • Knowledge of CAN communication
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 50-70% as needed
