Description
At Prime Source Foods, the Maintenance Technician demonstrates a thorough understanding of equipment used throughout processing and always adheres to protocol established by USDA. This is a key position to ensure that orders can be fulfilled to customers as promised, thereby maintaining the integrity of Prime Source Foods and The Cutting Room ™ branding as a world-class organization. They will be responsible for the routine maintenance and repairs on current and new machinery.
It is essential that you work closely with our management team, manufacturers, and other staff to diagnose issues, order parts, and complete repairs in a timely manner.
This is a regular, non-exempt position that reports to the Production Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Create and perform routine maintenance schedules for all machinery and technology inside production area.
  • Alert management team about any machine faults or failures.
  • Inspect and repair mechanical, electrical, and other components of equipment after production has finished for the day, unless otherwise instructed by production management team.
  • Communicate with management to diagnose issues and prioritize repair schedules.
  • Create follow-up reports listing repairs made, and parts used for tracking purposes.
  • Assist with product testing and recipe formulation on machinery.
  • Ensure Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures are followed at end of production and/or during maintenance.
  • Work with management team to order necessary machine parts.
  • Keep an updated inventory list of spare parts.
  • Update machine software and firmware as needed.
  • Other tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
  • Working knowledge of tools, appliances, and devices.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Possess a mobile device for communication with Prime.
  • Be able to comfortably lift up to 50lbs.
  • Frequent standing and walking, in a refrigerated and food-safe environment.
