Job description

Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting for a Preadmission Testing Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at our Piedmont Augusta. Our preadmission testing position work Monday through Friday 08:00 – 16:30/ 09:30-18:00 schedule offering a consistent and flexible lifestyle.


In this role you will:

· Perform Pre-Anesthesia Screening assessments to determine if a patient is optimized for planned anesthetic.

· Examine, evaluate, and treat patients with serious medical conditions, illness or injuries.

· Assigns ASA Physical Status Score.

· Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations and record data in patient’s medical record to include airway assessments, Mallampati score, heart and lung sounds.

· Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care.

· Write progress notes; prepare patient work-ups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings.

· Develop plans of care that minimize complications and successfully troubleshoot problems when they arise. Apply preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications.

· Collaborate with Anesthesiologists to develop a strong working knowledge of Pre- Anesthesia testing Protocols and guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

Masters, Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited PA program and National Board Certification
