Overview

Technical Trainer is responsible for developing and conducting programs to train employees and/or customers on the installation, programming, safety, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of equipment, and machinery. This position will work with other technicians to ensure all work scheduled is performed safely and to the customer's satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Confers with management and staff or customer representatives to determine technical training needs.
  • Participates in all necessary training to obtain and maintain professional certifications from OEMs and other suppliers, as needed to train others.
  • Prepares training materials including outlines, text, handouts, PowerPoint presentations, and laboratory exercises.
  • Demonstrates procedures being taught, such as programming and repairs.
  • Observes trainees in the laboratory and answer trainees' questions.
  • Administer written and practical exams and writes performance reports to evaluate trainees' performance.
  • Monitor the budget to ensure that training costs do not exceed allocated funds.
  • Award Certificates of Completion to students meeting the requirements of the class.
Qualifications
  • 2+ Years of relevant sales experience and/or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of business systems (e.g., BMS and Lotus Notes)
  • Computer and software skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
